Most Read Articles on Ed Tech Guy from past week

I'm recovering from injections to my back for my herniated discs and relaxing this weekend. Monday is graduation and Tuesday is the last day of school. This summer I'll be attending a couple of educational conferences, running and EMS Instructor training program and taking a couple of short trips. One trip is to Philly, which we fell in love with at ISTE last year. And, part of the trip, thanks to my wife, is a visit to the Philly Zoo and a meet-and-great with a tiger. Should be fun!

The end of the school year quickly approaches as our seniors start their final exams on May 29th. My physics classes are working on their Rockets project. They are almost done with the construction of the model rockets, are doing the physics analysis and calculations and we will be launching them next week, weather permitting.

Today I will be spending the day at CPEP Day. This is the final competition for the after school, pre-engineering program that I advise at my school. Students from around Connecticut will be competing in a variety of project competitions that they have been working on all year. It's a fun day, with students showing their hard work from the year. CPEP is a great organization and something all states should have.

The end of the school year quickly approaches as our seniors start their final exams on May 29th. My physics classes are working on their Rockets project. They start with a WebQuest on NASA's site learning about rockets, the physics of rockets, and model rockets. Then they design and build a model rocket, analyze it and do all the calculations to predict the altitude it should reach. Then we launch them and track the actual altitude. It's fun, a great way to apply many physics topics into one project, and a great way to end the year.
